MAGNESIUM BEARING FERROSILICON

Each molten batch of base ferrosilicon is weighed by a crane mounted remote
electronic scale in order to minimize analysis varations.
The depth of plunging is also
acurately determined in order
to avoid any unnecessary Mg
loss.

Required additions of Ca, Ba, and Rare earth Alloys are prepared and added prior to Mg plunging and then stirred with inert gas through a porous plug for homogenization. The Product is then cast into covered thin-cast molds for rapid solidication to prevent stratification of Mg.

The Modern Technology of magnesium plunging is applied. Mg variation control below 0.5% compared to Regular Chinese Production at least 1%. MgO control below 0.5% compared to Regular Chinese Production at
1 - 2.5% (MgO)
